Key Personnel

Carl R. Johnson, CEO
    Carl has over 35 years in printing experience.  He is a graduate of Bates College with a degree in Economics.  He then joined the Army, where he served as First Lieutenant in Germany for two years.  Carl resides in Loudonville, NY with his wife Lynn.  He has two children, Marcus and Kathryn, as well as one grandson, Clayton III.

Jane Q. Carey, President
    Jane has over 30 years in printing and distribution experience and is a graduate of Gibbs College.  Jane, daughter of Henry and Marion Quellmalz, has had family involved in the printing industry for over half a century.  Her late husband, Jack Carey, was also involved in the industry for 29 years. She resides in Troy, NY and has two step-children, Jacqueline and Brian.  She also has three step-grand children, Jalen, Emma and Connor.

Kathryn J. Koonce, Director of Operations
    Kate has over ten years of printing experience.  She is a graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business Institute.  Kate, daughter of Carl and niece of Jane is the fourth generation to become involved in the industry.  She resides in Glenmont, NY with her husband Clayton and has one son, Clayton III.

Larry K. Downing, Director of Production
    Larry has over 30 years in print production experience.  He currently handles both print production and IT requirements for the company and our customers.  He resides in Schenectady, NY with his wife Deborah and has three sons, Jesse, Larry, and Jonathan.

Clayton W. Koonce II, Director of Accounting
    Clayton has over ten years accounting experience.  He spent a combined six years at KPMG and UHY working closely with partners and outside consultants at both firms.  He left UHY to join the Boyd team in 2003.  He currently resides in Glenmont, NY with his wife Kathryn and has one son, Clayton III.
